I have an newer Apple laptop that seems to have issues recognizing the logcard...the C2 program I installed in it says there is no card!

It works on my PC so I know its an apple issue.

Can anyone offer any help?

Thanks!

Mike

What version of OS X?
Is this with a PM3, PM4 or a stand-alone card reader?
Do you have the very latest version of the Concept2 Utility?

Are you using a card reader? The Omnikey reader works O.K. with OX4, but for OX5 you need an Athena reader. Also, there was one time when my Mac didn't show that a card was there and I found out the I needed to push it in just another mm or 2. Then it was fine.

Dougie,

Sorry I omitted that info...I am running OS X v10.5.7 and its the PM4. I am connecting it directly with the USB cable...no card reader.

Now, I assume it's the latest Concept 2 Utility since I just got the D model with the PM4 a few weeks ago new direct from Concept 2. I just checked and its the C2 6.30 version which looks like the latest.

Bob S, I made sure to push the card in all the way...and it does work perfectly with the PC I have, just not with the Apple :(

Now, I went over to the UK site and apparently some there have experienced the same problems...someone posted that there was an interference from the HP printer drivers. I find that hard to believe, but who knows...I am just reticent to remove all printer drivers to find out!

Anyway, any other suggestions would be helpful!

Mike

Thanks for your help gents

edit....two more pieces of info: 1) I have my laptop plugged in so it shouldn't be a voltage issue and 2) the yellow light on the back of the PM4 unit keeps flickering on and off on and off...like its trying to connect, but no luck!

Just wanted to bump this thread...is there anyone with any advice, something I'm missing???

I plan to give C2 tomorrow/Monday, if I get any helpful information I will post it here as I can only assume others may have the same problem.

Regards,
mike

OK, problem solved...

Spoke to Scott and he told me that there was indeed a problem with the Mac OS X and HP drivers. Fortunately, they fixed the bug in the beta release of the PM4 software.

To download it simply go to your C2 application and go to the middle icon on the right (it looks like a gear)...when you open this you will see three tabs, click on the one on the right (firmware types) click on the top choice (accept beta versions) go back to the middle tab (firmware updates) and click on NOW

That will download the new beta software to the PM4.

I just tried it and it worked beautifully, no more bugs with the MAC!

Outstanding service, thanks all the folks at C2, I bet its a terrific place to work :))

Best regards,
Mike
