PM5 rest period of a time interval runs fast

When doing an Interval Time piece, the rest period runs fast. I've timed it with a stopwatch and if I have a 1 minute rest period, only 45 seconds or so has elapsed before the next interval begins. I have a PM5 on my erg. I've updated the firmware, unplugged and plugged back in everything, and changed the batteries - no result. Any ideas? Thanks!
