PM5 and Wahoo TICKR-X connect but bad data
Just upgraded my C to a nice new PM5. All working as expected, including ErgData connection on iPhone. Problem is HR connection. I use a Wahoo TICKR-X which works fine with my Garmin cycle computer and with Zwift on iPad, but when I connect it to the PM5, the HR readings are wrong. The indicated heart rate is way too low, like reading 65 when I know I'm north of 110. The PM5 "sees" and connects without objection. Is there some setting in the PM5 I'm missing? One possibility is that since the TICKR-X supports both HR and cycling cadence, the PM5 is picking up the wrong 'channel', but I don't know how to verify or fix that issue. ANY GUESSES OR WISDOM? thanks in advance.

What firmware version is your PM5 running?

If it ain't running the latest the time to upgrade is now.

Re: PM5 and Wahoo TICKR-X connect but bad data
thanks. since the PM5 came direct from C2 about 3 weeks ago, it can't be that far off, but will check. I'm starting to suspect it needs to connect as an FE-C device. No idea if that will work or what the heck it even means...

Re: PM5 and Wahoo TICKR-X connect but bad data
Hi there. Very long time concept 2 erg rower user here. C model. Upgraded to PM5 two years ago and use iPhone erg data. Running new 172 software and both my long time rock solid Garmin HeartRate strap and Tickr Fit are connecting but read very low HR numbers when warmed up and then both drop out or fail to read consistently. Similar to what this post suggests.
Have tried reinstalling updates but what was once brilliant is now not. Any help out there or anyone had similar problems?

Re: PM5 and Wahoo TICKR-X connect but bad data
I've always found unreliable HR readings are usually down to needing a new battery in the HRM, or maybe a new strap.
I'm not sure about software issues as I use an Android and Ergzone.

Re: PM5 and Wahoo TICKR-X connect but bad data
Thx. Tried new batteries and Getting the same problem with Garmin. The Tikr Fit is maybe because it’s swinging back and forth on my arm from the PM5 whilst rowing. and will now buy a new strap or new H10 Polar strap. What’s peoples opinion of the Polar H10?

Ah, OK. If it's not tight, it will be an issue. I always use a chest strap.
I use a CooSpo, so I can't help with advice on the H10. I think that there are a few on the forum who use the H10

Re: PM5 and Wahoo TICKR-X connect but bad data
Rock solid. Never had any issues with it except the first sensor was not waterproof sealed, but was immediately replaced by Polar.
Only using it for ~1 year, but I think this is long enough for experiencing problems if any.
I like the internal logging feature, used it several times at my gym sessions. Also used two connected devices in the beginning as old ergdata was not able to report proper average heat rate. Since it is providing proper data I do not connect to Polar app at the same time anymore.

Just to let everybody know who’s interested.. the new Polar H10 strap worked brilliantly. Straight out of the box. So the problem was probably an old broken Garmin cheststrap.

Good news and that doesn't surprise me, as they do take a lot of punishment of they're old and you sweat a lotBigbrownbear wrote: ↑January 11th, 2023, 10:20 amJust to let everybody know who’s interested.. the new Polar H10 strap worked brilliantly.
