I downloaded the Beta 88 ver 11 to my PM3 at the end of July. Since then I have had an odd thing happen twice when doing interval workouts.

The issue happens when transitioning from rest periods to work periods in set interval workouts. Both times were when I began pulling hard for about the last 3 seconds of the rest period going in to the work period. There is a distinct pause (significantly longer than usual) and the spm will record a very high number (I only remember one of the numbers being around 59) and the split goes very high.

I don't remember the numbers on the splits either time but after 3 or 4 pulls on the first piece the average split showed in the middle 2:20's and I was pulling 2:05 splits. The pieces were 1:30 on and 30 off. That piece ended up recording as 2:07.1. All the other intervals were 2:03'3 and 2:04's. The other meters recorded were 360-365 and this one recorded as 354.

I was annoyed with it at the time because I knew the numbers were off and that had never happened before. Then it happened again today. The intervals were 10:00 on and 2:00 off. The split didn't end up as far off because the length of the interval was long enough to almost make up for it, but it ended up adding about a tenth, as the splits were 2:05 and 2:06 throughout the whole piece (I kept track because I wanted to see how it would affect the final split time) and the final split time showed 2:06.9.

There is (maybe) another issue in that the total work meters rowed do not total the meters rowed in each set. This is probably rounding and switching from rest to work and may not be an issue at all (I haven't gone back to check the workouts I rowed before I installed the Beta software; maybe this happens anyway). I wouldn't have noticed it except that I was checking the splits from these pieces.

Thanks for the note, we'll look into each of these items and address them before release of a final edition.

-- Scott
That's because the pm3 starts on it's own, independently of when you start, and makes it's own time, which is not totally related to how fast you have rowed.

The pm2 is much better, as it only starts when you do, and keeps track of the actual time that you row.

A quick update on the above note: Today when pulling 10x1:30 on 30 off intervals it happened a couple of times; the split time went to 4:49 one time and 5:00 another time, didn't catch the third time.

Thanks,
KJG

Please update your PM3 with the recently posted Beta Rev 88 Build 13. This new version should address the issues you cited in your post.

Let us know.

Mark
