I get that from ErgData (Android) when I don't have a stable internet connection. My garage is at limits of WiFi and very poor 4G.
When I go back in the house it works fine. I just keep hitting the sync button until it works!
Maybe same issue?

Apologies, if was a different error. Got it again tonight. It was a javax.net.ssl.SSLexception read error. I think this is due to dodgy internet in garage, it authenticates then prob times out waiting for data to be sent.

I've just had a similar problem / similar error message. In the ErgData app I went to settings > Online LogBook Status > Log out from account.
Then logged back in. Then tried to sync again and it worked fine. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem. Logging out and back in fixed it!
