Concept Utility 6.97 corupted logbook?

Post by NdyGen » September 30th, 2015, 4:44 am

Whenever I put my usb stick in my computer and start the concept utility I get a message telling me my logbook is corrupt and should be repaired:

If I click YES there is some action on the USB stick and the utility continues. Whenever I want to upload or export the data to a csv I get the message again. Clicking YES has the same result and after that the data is uploaded or exported.

So functionality seems to work but the message and clicking the YES button gets anoying. The stick with another users data doesn't have the problem. I've transfered my data files to that stick and vica versa.

The problem stays with the data file and is aparently not stick related. So my guess is there's something wrong in the data files or at lease the utility thinks so.

The pm5 has no problem with the stick and or the data.

Does anybody have an idea how this can be fixed or what's going on.

I've sent a mail to concept but didn't get a response so far other then erase the stick and start over. This option is not acceptable because I loose the data on the stick :(

It would be quite helpful if Concept 2 still had the earlier utility on their website 6.53

Probably no help with the PM5 but I find 6.97 just hopeless for the PM3 and PM4, it just drives me nuts for firmware upgrades and just keeps crashing and burning and telling me it" Encountered a problem and needs to exit" so I gave up on it.

Just a shot in the dark here but did you use the utility or the monitor to FORMAT the USB stick before you started using it ? Formatting usually fixes everything. Try a second stick after formatting it and do a single row, does it work ?

Obviously you want to be running the latest firmware on the PM5 found here.

I have a PM4 and the utility crashes all of the time. Usually it takes 10 - 20 attempts to get it to upload my row.

At the moment I am doing longer rows, so this means freezing in my garage while I attempt to upload.

Please can you fix this broken utility concept?

Have you upgraded your monitor to the latest firmware?
Is your network connection reliable? The logbook uses http://log.concept2.com/LogBookServices/... which resolves to 198.101.165.71

With my OmniKey reader and Windows 10, I've found it only reads the card if I insert the card in my reader before plugging the reader into my computer. Is your card in your monitor before you connect your monitor to your computer?
