Concept2 Utility unable to validate my user id (Mac)
Hello,
I received my Concept 2 rower with PM4 before Thanksgiving and have loved using it. Today, I thought I would try to upload my workouts using the Concept2 Utility. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.2.
The utility properly reads my log card because I can see all of my workouts listed since November 21. I am having problems getting the utility to connect to my online logbook profile.
I click on the "Click to Login" and fill in my username/password, click the "Validate" button, but then it just hangs at "Requesting Ranking ID from Server." By hangs I mean that after 10 minutes it still hasn't finished -- is this normal and I am just being impatient? Problem is, I cannot click "OK" while it is like this (because it hasn't validated), so I cannot proceed any further.

Yeah, I typed in the correct password (with proper case) and that hasn't fixed it.
My mac does run a firewall, however, I tried: without modifying the firewall (because it will raise a prompt), after adding Concept2 to the trusted applications list, and after turning the firewall off completely. Still cannot connect.
Is there a way I can get some debugging logs for you? I have a PC laptop I can rev up and try, but I'm a little disappointed that this will not work on the Mac.

No idea. I can't afford an expensive Mac, I prefer to use Linux as it's cheaper and it's an operating system where things just work (except there isn't a C2 util for Linux). I also am using 10.6.2 and have not had this problem. Is it possible that you are using an ID that is different from the C2 ranking ID? I can't remember when I was ever asked for that, but I suppose that I must have been asked at some time or other. Almost a year to the day - I have just tried to use the online update - same exact problem!
Mac user - updated Snow Leopard - hangs at validate.
No case sensitive issues - no firewall - I am able logon online.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

The C2 logbook password is CaSe SeNsItIvE, make sure you've entered it exactly the same as you did on the web page when you registered (or changed) it.

As I mentioned before - it is not a case sensitive issue.
I am also able to log in on the website - just not through the application.
Any other ideas?

Bad news - I will NEVER ditch my Mac (and will refrain from converting you)......
GREAT news - I emailed Concept 2 and they resolved the problem. It was caused because I had 2 accounts online (I had totally forgot that I signed up for one a year ago) - they combined my accounts - emailed me a new username password - and OUILA!

I suspect you mean "voilà!" which translates as "that's it!" when used as an interjection.
The responsiveness of C2 to any email sent to rowing@concept2.com is second to none. Thanks Dena, David Hart and the others who man that ID and provide the excellent and timely support.
