I suspect your on the wrong side of the world for me to fix it.

Look on E-Bay there is a guy in the UK who can fix it by the name of Simon, however if you do a lot of rowing its simply time to get yourself a new PM5.

The PM2 is a great monitor, still my favourite because its simple and repairable, however the PM5 is also now very reliable if you only ever put quality Alkaline batteries in it.
