Increasing quota size in phpBB
Increasing quota size in phpBB
Question for phpBB admins-
I’m a fairly new member here and have been having problems adding attachments to my posts (i.e. ‘the board attachment quota has been reached’). I’ve seen a few threads already on this same issue, but the recommendation by folks here was to use external sites to host the attachment and post the link to that attachment in the text we post here. What I want to find out is if we can simply increase the quota size in phpBB on our end so that folks don’t have to take the extra step and depend on external sites to make attachments possible here.
I did some searching on the web just now, and this seems to be possible by increasing the ‘Total Attachment Quota under ACP’. Is this something we can do? If not, is there a reason why we can’t increase this quota? Thanks in advance for your help.

Ok, I get that... can you at least elaborate on why? Is it to conserve backend storage space, save money, or maybe both? One of the reasons why I prefer to handle these attachments on this board is to limit the add’l websites I have to share my personal info with- sites I know little about in some cases, and in other cases sites I have to share my personal phone number with. I’m a network security engineer by trade, so yeah- security is always on my mind.Citroen wrote: ↑February 7th, 2020, 6:36 pmIt's not going to change.

Because Concept2 are a rowing/skiing/biking ergo company not a media host. It costs money to run this forum and extra disk space will cost extra.
You wouldn't want advertising on here to fund extra space to satisfy your ego.

Wow, you’ve really got a lot of nerve. I simply ask you to elaborate on why there’s no interest in fixing an issue that would allow all members here (not just me), to more easily share their workout data with each other- info you should’ve clarified in your earlier text to me, but didn’t- and this is the response I get? And you talk about *my* ego? I’m taking screen shots of this entire thread, including your nasty response, and will be happy to share it with Concept2 when I call them this coming week. We’ll see what they have to say about your silly stunt.

That would sure be helpful, provided the cost would not be significant. Most other websites already have that capability.
