Is there a backup of UK forum backup anywhere?

Post by JohnAd » September 8th, 2016, 3:21 am

Does anybody connected with the old UK concept 2 forum know if there is a backup anywhere?

If there was could we load it up as read-only on this site? Happy to help with any conversion if required.

Thanks

John

Not possible. The UK forum doesn't belong to Concept2 UK or Concept2 Inc. When they had the great split with Indoor Sports Services the forum was left behind because Concept2 Inc. already had this forum.

You'll need to write to ISS http://indoorsportservices.co.uk/company/contact but don't expect a coherent answer, their forum has been dead since June and they don't seem at all keen to resurrect it.

Fair enough, for what it's worth I've asked them but don't hold out too much hope.

I've written to them, I've tweeted to them, they don't care. The conspiracy theorist in me says "it was deliberate".

Along with the fact that Google had no search results from the forum, so you couldn't even look at the cached results on 'important' threads...
Piers 53m was 73Kg 175cm to 2019 now 78kg

They had zero interest, the forum was hardly to be found, only a small link deep hidden away.

This is the best I've found so far

https://web.archive.org/web/20130601045 ... .uk/forum/

You can only go in a couple of links deep.

That's mostly useless. These forums thrive on new posts, the old stuff just disappears and nobody ever refers to it (apart from the spammers looking for a thread to append their crap on).
