Poll & NYT Column discussing Exercising w/ a Cold Resear

Post by Alissa » December 25th, 2008, 9:04 pm

Thought people here might be interested in a column in Christmas Eve's New York Times:

"Personal Best: Don’t Starve a Cold of Exercise

This seems to be consistent with what I've heard before, although I hadn't seen research about it. I thought it might be fun to see how others react to colds, so added a poll.

Hope everyone had/is having a Merry Christmas!

I chose "no if it is a headcold", however, if the headcold has worked its way to the inner ear and is effecting balance then I do have to scale back or replace some exercises for safety -- for instance a heavy 5x5 of freeweight squats with impaired balance is probably not a good idea.
