Intersting (but pretty logical) article.
Does anyone know of any articles or research that broke down the different sports and what physical attributes are most likely to contribute to success?
It sounds very "19080's soviet/chinese sports school" type of thinking ... but ... they had/have successful olympians back then!

Bob Arnot, a former Winter Olympic medical director, wrote a book called SportsTalent that went into capabilities for a broad range of sports, as well as provided tests for a smaller set of 6.

For abstracts on anthropomorphic characteristics of rowers, many can be found on PubMed:
- diameters of various body parts
- sitting height
- correlations for strength, power, and aerobic capacity
- muscle symmetry and injury
