Post by shevchenko » November 22nd, 2009, 6:03 pm

there are two different concept2 model d rowers.
Manufactured August 2006–Present,
Manufactured July 2003–August 2006
i will buy 2004 model old one. do you think models after 2006 are very different. i find a good price for a 2004 model.

main differences are:
Updated in August 2006 with the following features:

* Modified monorail artwork
* Redesigned foot-stretchers
* Updated frame lock mechanism

http://www.concept2.com/us/service/indoorrowers/modeld/

price is very good for 2004 model.
i will listen to your recommendations.

I purchased my model D in late 2003, six years ago. Since then, I've used it about an hour a day, six days a week and I have had absolutely no problems with it. The frame lock mechanism and the foot-stretchers have been very stable and have held up well.

I can't think of any product I've ever owned that has been more dependable than my model D. The appearance of the monorail artwork on the newer model may look different, but it's meaningless.

To me, the differences between model D rowers manufactured before and after August, 2006 seem to be very minute. If you find an older model D, have it checked out by an expert--preferably someone who sells and repairs C2's. If they tell you that it's in good condition and if the price is right, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.
