HRM: Making the Suunto more effective.

Post by Robert_Levit@hotmail.com » March 5th, 2009, 8:09 pm

Hello, I am a new rower working with a new model D PM4 with the Suunto HR belt. It seems very slow to start working. Often I need to row 200 meters or so before it kicks in. I have followed all the obvious tips: positioning, damp contacts, low tracking number. Is there something I am missing about getting this thing to start?

Thanks

Suunto Problem

Post by jprekop » March 6th, 2009, 6:50 am

I had a similiar problem with the hard plastic Suunto belt that came with the PM4. Recently it seemed to just stop working at all. So I contacted Concept2. They sent me a Suunto 'Comfort Belt.' It works every time and immediately shows my heart rate. It's not as sturdy as the hard plastic belt but it did fix my problem. I could not find the belt offered for sale on the website so you might want to call Concept2 and see what they can do for you. Apparently this is a known problem for SOME users of the hard plastic belt. Good luck and keep rowing.
