I Finally Did It...

Hi Friends,
Well I finally did it. About 3 minutes ago I clicked the "Submit Order" button on the Concept2 shopping site. Goodbye piggy bank rattlings, hello brand-new Model D and seat pad! I'll let you know when it arrives! Meanwhile thanks to everyone for the encouragement and information as I've searched, pondered, and tussled with making a decision. I feel good about the track I've taken.
Inevitably I'll have a lot more questions... about Row-Pro, technique issues, etc.
Meanwhile I'm having fun organizing a Staff Rowing Clinic at the big YMCA where I'm employed. We have an accomplished competitive rower who is now a rowing team coach coming to give us staff a workshop to help us erg better and better train our members and clients, so I'm looking forward to benefiting in many ways, individually and work-wise!
Thanks again -- will keep you posted!

Congratulations on your purchase. Money very well spent. :D Looking forward to seeing you in some Rowpro sessions.

Thanks! And you mention RowPro -- haven't gotten to thinking through/researching things seriously, but want to check out RowPro, iRow, PMAX, etc. Any "reviews" on these tools/programs are welcome. I'll write a separate post to start the thread -- later! This weekend is maxxed out.
Problem with seeing you in RowPro sessions is, judging from your times, ALL I'd be seeing is your back! :(
See you again soon!

Actually I would be seeing your back since rowers face aft

It is pretty normal for there to be a wide spread in participant speeds. The most important bit about the online sessions is that it becomes a group activity, and that alone is motivating. There are plenty of sessions where I am watching someone else disappear into the sunset, but it is still a great experience.

Rowpro has a 20 day free trial http://digitalrowing.com/ Even if you ignore the online stuff, Rowpro is great for managing workouts, and has some nice displays.

Oh... maybe that's why my times are slow... :o
