Question for Paul Smith

Paul,
I have a model B and am going to purchase a C-breeze. Is there any way to modifiy a CP1 to work on a Model B track? Just wondering, just cant afford to up to a Model D yet. Thanks for any help.

Hi Ryan,
The CP1 will only attach to a hole pattern like the Models C, D, E have. I suppose that if a mounting plate could be fashioned to go on a Model B seat carriage it would be possible. Or if C2 has a Retrofit Model C seat Kit for the Model B (that used a standard Model C seat) it would work.
The Model B's I've seen have not had removable seats, making the easy answer "No". But I thought that I had heard of people updating them to a model C type of seat.

The attachment for my model B seat was exactly the same as for the C and the D.
I didn't like the original soft seat, and was using a flat sheet of plywood.
C2 sent a model C type of seat and it was much better.

I do have the Model C retrofit seat for the Model B. So it seems like this could work from your description. Thanks for your help. If anyone else has used the CP1 with the retrofit put up a post or email me please.

It's the same seat hole pattern for all our ergs except the earliest Model As.....C2JonW

Indeed it does, as the seat will surely fit on top of the CP1. And with C2jonW's confirmation of the hole pattern, you should be good to go. (I must be thinking of the Early Model A's and will take a specific look at my Model B this afternoon.)

I kept the seat from my model B when I got the newer C model as I found the shape and material much more comfortable than the hard seat on the C. When I sold the B on ebay the C seat was touted as an upgrade (I hated the thing!). The seats lined up exactly when they were swaped.
