Anyone have an Endurerow seat? I was planning on buying one when they are back in stock.

The stock C2 seat and my bony butt don't get along even with a sorbothane pad.

We have two at the boathouse and reviews are mixed. I personally like them and it seems that the folks that don't find the holes in the seat to be uncomfortably positioned. I think the seat is a real bonus on longer rows. It also appears to be well made, but we've only had them a few months in actual use.

I made a couple of ethafoam pads complete with relief holes for the sitzbonz. The holes on the first attempt were 5.5" apart on centers; on the second increased to 6" on centers. The second version worked better for me which leads me to believe that the lateral separation of the relief holes or depressions is important. Endurerow offers only one model but the relief holes are slightly elongated (or maybe ewidegated is more apt) imo to accomodate variation in pelvic width. I hesitated to pony up for the Endurerow but am glad I did. Having no trouble with glute soreness or stiffness post row. My wife has not noticed any benefit but she experienced little discomfort on the stock seat and typically rows pieces <5K. The seat is producing no discomfort for me at 12K+. I can't speak to the question of eliminating tailbone discomfort because I have never experienced it. Jack

I'm so glad I ran across this post the other day. Pads and pillows of various sorts have never really worked well for me. I've been trying to find some sort of good way to alieviate the soreness in my glutes while rowing and was willing to spend the money for the Endurerow seat when I saw it. I was unaware of it before. I ordered one right away and had it three days later. Installed it right away and have to say it is a big improvement.

When I first installed it, I didn't get more than 100 meters into my row and I was ready to rip it off the due to the pain it was causing. Then I realized I had been adjusting my seating position due to the old seat to sit further back than normal. Once I moved back to a more normal position, and the Endurerow seat softened up a bit, it was much more comfortable. It's still a bit odd getting used to the holes in the seat, but they were much less noticable at the end of my first row.

I only rowed 6000 meters so not a significant test, but normally I have to adjust my position every 1000 or less on the old seat, so a big improvement since I did the last 3000 pretty much in place. Felt pretty good after this row. With the old seat I have been unable to row anything longer than about 7000 without standing up and stretching. Will see if I can break that with the Endurerow seat.

Overall, it's an improvement. While it is expensive, I'm familiar with bicycle seat costs so I wasn't too surprised. Only thing I wish I had done is not follow the installation instructions. Would have been much easier and spared some paint just doing it with the rower upright and fully assembled as I initially intended, rather than separating and flipping upside down.

Since they only sell one size, they might want to think about providing the sitz bone spacing that works best with their seat. Might save them and potential buyers some grief.

I considered buying this seat after I began rowing more than 15km. Somewhere after 12km, my sitz bones reach their limit and start howling. After doing some research, I opted to buy a memory foam pad on amazon for 1/4 the price.

Paid $20 for a 2K Fit seat, designed by a rower, at Amazon. Great seat. Wish they made one for my kayak...

Bumping an old thread here.

I did a marathon this weekend using the EndureRow seat with excellent results. My glutes weren't sore at all, however, I used a home-made foam pad almost exactly the same thickness and density as two Concept2 foam pads stuck together. (layered yoga-mat material) Not sure I'd want to use the EndureRow without additional padding but I may try next time, for comparison.

Caveat: before the EndureRow, I used the same pad on the stock seat and it was comfortable, but I never did such long distances/times at once, and alignment remained challenging. (C2 seat is flatter, with no cutouts)

Pluses - positive alignment of the EndureRow - your sit-bones "lock" right into the cutouts, and the tailbone cutout keeps pressure off your coccyx.

My suspicion is the EndureRow wins on longer rows due to the positive alignment of the sit bones, and the cutout for your tailbone.
