Log Data Card Issue

I've just started using the log card w/ a Concept 2 Model E rower at the gym. The card has formatted and I put my name in, however it did not save my distance rowed information at the end of the session-nor save any data at all. I simply hit the "Just Row" button on the moniter to start my session. Do you need to select a specific training interval, ie.-500 meters, 30 minutes, etc., for the log card to save your training session info? Should I do anything at the end of the row to make the log card save the info? The card recognizes me, my name comes up when I insert it into the moniter, and politely says goodbye when the card is removed, but so far, no session info has been saved. Any help would be appreciated. John NYC

One thing to make sure of (in case you are using the card on two machines) is the date on the machine might not be set right and the record of the row will not appear where you expect. I use a card at home, and when I went to a gym their erg had a date way in the past. Back at home, I didn't see my gym row at the top of the list on my card, and only later realized that it was buried way down.

I only use the card at the gym so that shouldn't be an issue.

1. Ask the gym to upgrade to V21 firmware on their model Es
2. Download V6.0 of the logcard utility, it will fix most fixable errors on logcards.
3. You must row for at least 20 seconds or 100 metres to get a workout recorded on the card.
4. Check the date and time, it's bound to be wrong since the PM4 doesn't correct for the end of daylight saving.
5. If the card isn't inserted in the machine correctly the workout gets recorded in the PM4 memory, you can transfer it to the logcard later.

Thanks to all for the reply's. I did check that the date /time was correct before inserting the card. I also rowed over 5000 meters. Once again I'm wondering if it will record if I'm only selecting "Just Row" from the main menu, or does that not matter. I'll have to check about the firmware download. Is there any thing I should be doing once I insert the card and it recognizes me as a user, to get the log card to record data ? I don't see any other options under Main menu or log menu that specifically refer to steps to take to ensure data recording. I'll research the C2 site further for any possible info. Thanks again all!

In the P4 manual it says you need to go back to the main menu before removing the card....that may be what I was doing wrong. I've only used the card a couple of times....I'll give it a shot on the next row. Have a great one all!
