pm3 heart rate receiver w/ sports instruments hrm

Post by bambu » January 30th, 2007, 9:50 am

Just wondering if anyone has any experience using a Sports Instruments heart rate monitor with the heart rate interface for the pm3. I know that it is supposed to be for "polar" HRMs but, I have read that other people on the forum have used other brands successfully. Has anyone tried this?

I don't know about the Sports Instruments one, but the receiver C2 sells isn't even made by Polar, it's made by Acumen... so at least some other transmitters (Acumen, for instance) should work with it.

I use a nashbar heart rate monitor that I got a dozen or so years ago, and have changed the batteries quite a few times (20 for 6 bucks on ebay).

I've taped a short upright piece of 3/4" pvc in the midst of the handle, and easily wrap the wrist receiver around that, then use the monitor quite easily any time that I wish.
