Any of you all gotten this seat? Whom did you order it from? How long did it take you to get it after ordering it?

I added it to the products I offer (link in signature), after trying it at last years CRASH-B's and ordering them for myself.

If you are in the USA it will take about a week (typically, sometimes quicker) once you place your order.

FYI, if any of you all are interested in a core perform seat, I spoke with John a couple days ago and he told me that they were back-ordered two to three weeks.

hey gang,

not 10 strokes into rowing on my C2 w/ the core perform seat and I discover why I can't row in a straight line (at least one reason): on my hands forward on the recovery, I lean to my right, ever so slightly, such that when I slide forward on the seat to the catch, I'm now significantly off balance to my right, so much so that I cannot "catch up" and regain my balance (at least not yet). When in the boat, I'm continually having to exert more pressure on the port scull to keep me in a straight line. I'll get to check it out tomorrow when I row OTW.

This seat looks really cool, I just have a couple of questions for anyone that's used it:

1) How does the extra seat height affect your rowing / how tired you get / your times?

2) It's great that this seat forces you to stay balanced like on a boat - I'm sure the advantages in term of core strength are enormous - but I'd be concerned about the fact that, unlike what happens on a boat, your feet do not have the ability to turn with you as you get off-balance, which I would think has the potential to place a lot of strain on your knees until you become good enough to stay balanced throughout your workouts. Thoughts?

3) I read the website and wonder: why is it recommended that you only use this feature in intervals? Is it just when you're getting started, and until you can progress to be good enough to row, say, an hour, without locking the seat?

1) Times not really effected, but until balance is controlled there is a similar fatigue that happens when in a boat.

2) Go strapless, no problem with stress on the knees. Though you could end up on the floor.

Also, being strapped in allows your feet to adjust so easily for the seat that there is not nearly the balance involved.

3) It's actually really useful to alternate, so that you can determine whether or not the balance is becoming a habit, or just something done when in the Movable mode and a lot of feedback. The overall goal being to not notice a difference, otherwise we would still be doing the bad thing and causing the tipping boat (or seat in this case).

Hello to all,

I have used my new CP1 stability seat only twice for a total of about
15 min over two sessions and at the end of the secound session i put the
lever back to the fixed state and it would not lock back in,infact the lever
came out of the main body. so needless to say i will be sending it back
for either replacement or refund. we will see if the company backs thier
product well or not.

has anyone else here had any problems with these units? i will post againe
when i know the end results.

Yep, it's happenned previously, to one of my personal units. John at Core Perform has informed me of an engineering change they have made that should eliminate the potential for the problem in the future.

Core Perform has handled all warranty issues very well, and fortunately they seem to be few and far between.

thanks for the response to my post and for the information based
upon your personal experience. I should be able to send it off for
replacement this friday and will be looking forward to receiving a
new unit.
in just the short time that i had the seat i realy did like it and could
absolutly tell the work being done by the core muscles with it,i also
noticed that it made me pay more attention to my technique while
wabbling about (good for a newbie).

once again thanks Paul and i will let you know how it goes.

Just received a message from John about the core perform seat, which
said that he has received the broken seat and will repair and ship back
to me A.S.A.P,as you stated they seem to be taking care of the issue
very well indeed. I would recommend the product and the company
that stands behind it to all whom care to hear.

well after a little bit of a wait i have received my cp1 seat back from
John after repairing it, and am happy to say that all is well with the
unit and it is working fine. I am happy to have it back and be using
it again. My thanks to Paul S. and John Argitis for their help in this.

Pleased to hear that this has been resolved promptly.
Do you know if the quoted engineering change has been effected yet?
I'd be interested in a CorePerform seat, but would be reluctant to risk trans-Atlantic shipping charges to fix a broken unit.
