Resting meters

I've noticed that on some of my rows my resting meters will transfer to my logbook, but on others they won't (the r=easy rows do not count my resting meters). Is there something I need to do to have these meters count? The total on my log card & in my book have a 156m discrepancy. I know it's not much, but I haven't counted these "lost" meters in my rowing total.
