Hi can someone tell me the difference between a Model D and a D2. I know that they redesigned foot-stretchers & updated frame locking mechanism apart from that what else is there? Is there any advantages of a D2 over a D
I'm only asking as I have been offered a D with a pm4 for a reasonable price
Thxs

From August 2007 the newer version had the new design PM3 or PM4 monitor. This looks the same on the outside and the menus look the same however the newer version is much better in terms of battery consumption and speed when you sort the logcard results. It is also a far more reliable monitor than the older one and to date I have only had a couple of faulty ones to repair.
Internally the chain guide rollers are a clear soft material instead of a white nylon so they are quieter.
You have already noted some of the obvious external changes. Despite the two looking similar the newer version is actually quite a lot better.
The old D1 version also had frame crack problems and in my opinion they sell second hand for far too much money. Usually over here an extra couple of hundred gets you a brand new one delivered in the box compared to a 6 or 7 year old machine becasue the buyers don't know the difference between the old and new models.
The older D1 versions should be half the price of a new one now in my opinion. You can tell what version of PM4 it has by the firmware information in the product ID screen.
The old versions of monitor need the firmware updated before you can run the likes of RowPro.
