A friend of mine has picked up an old model c for their garage gym. As I've been rowing for some time they've asked for my help sorting it out. I have a model D and the extent of my knowledge is the basic maintenance I carry out periodically. Keeping the slide and rollers clean and oiling the chain etc. So I have applied my extensive technical ability to this rower, basically cleaned slide and rollers, oiled the chain! I did take the front housing off and vacuumed the dust out from the fan, but it still sounds like this:

The chain sounds rough, even though there are no obvious problem links, and I don’t remember the last model C I used making this weird fan sound, it basically works ok just noisy! Is this acceptable for an old model c?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can suggest anything?

The C was noted as being significantly louder than a D, although much quieter than a B. It has been so long since I have used a C that I don't remember it, but the one in the video did not sound too bad to me.
