First questions posted on here, but have about 5 years on my rower, purchased new in January 2020. Had to replace my first bungee this year and since the change there have been a couple issues. First is just something strange that has been in my workout summary the last 2 days. Doing a steady state piece, I get a single stroke spike in rate - from 20-21 to 80+ for a single stroke. Just out of the ordinary and want to see if it points to something to fix or look at.
The second issue deals with the bungee or that system. I’ve tightened the bungee twice since changing it, but I get the same result. All is fine for the majority of my row, but at some point, I get a sluggish return of the handle for a few strokes and then back to normal. It could just be me and fatigue from the effort, but it really seems slow to return. I’ve removed the fan cover, dusted and did that sort of maintenance, but nothing has changed. Is there something else I should be looking at?
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Questions
Caveat: I've never had to to change the bungee cord on my Model C, so I don't have any first-hand experience with the process.
With that caveat, if you're saying that after replacing the bungee you get intermittent handle return issues then I think it's safe to say that the problem is due to the swap, or perhaps the new bungee cord itself. Assuming the bungee is fine, I would guess that the problem is due to the bungee routing. (on the other hand, there's a very good chance that you've already checked that)
Why it would be an intermittent problem is harder to say, but maybe something is just a bit out of position, and as you row it jumps into a "bad" position, then self-corrects. Again, just a guess on my part.
Best of luck diagnosing the problem, and let us know when (if?) you figure it out.

Re: Questions
Thanks for the suggestion. I took it all apart but didn’t see anything wrong. Put it all back together and made it through today’s row with no issues. Don’t know what happened- either something wa just slightly out of the pulley and I knocked it back in or just the mental step eased my mind and it has been fine all along.
I do appreciate that answer though.
