UK Erg Servicing
Hi,
Has anyone used Rowgear UK for C2 servicing? Looking for some personal reviews of their service.
Or any other companies in the UK that do home visit servicing?
My Model D is in generally good health but does slip occassionally but I've yet to tie it down to specific circumstances. As a non handy DIY'er I would not be confident to fiddle around too much inside the machine but have in the past taken the cover off for a clean and do oil the chain.
Thanks in advance
Alex

If you buy a new flywheel, any handyman can replace it. In US, it costs about $100. Not sure about UK.
You can also replace the clutch bearing, but that requires more creativity. If you are paying somebody to do it, probably cheaper to replace the flywheel.
You can also clean the clutch bearing with mineral spirits, and lubricate with motor oil. Again, your handyman can do that.
And if you want to DIY, replace "handyman" with "you."

I used Rowgear when I wanted my Model D serviced as a 10th birthday treat. I don't drive so arranged a home visit, when I was in Caversham. The bloke did a good job and I was happy. This was 7-8 years ago now at least.
I know that ergs are designed to be easy to service but my DIY skills are nonexistent and I'd rather pay someone to do it properly.

Re: UK Erg Servicing
I had them out to service my old model E a few weeks ago and they were fantastic to deal with via email and then when they arrived. Carried out the service professionaly, good to chat to and it's clear they do a lot of servicing!
I would definitely have them out for another service.
Happy to answer any question you might have.
