I recently purchased a used concept 2 row erg with the PM5 monitor.
Is it normal to have to re-connect my heart rate monitor to the PM5 each time it on? My HRM is a Polar H7 (I think).
At the top right corner of the PM5, there is an icon which looks like a bluetooth icon, but I may be wrong. Does this just mean that bluetooth mode is on or is there some other reason?
When updating the PM5 firmware, it says that I am up to date with version 215, but the C2 website says the current version is 457.

Re: PM5 questions
The PM5 can save your HR belt details if you insert a USB stick. Otherwise you'll have to connect your HR belt everytime.
I don't recommend using a USB stick. What I do recommend is using Ergdata and using that to record your workouts.
The firmware versions depend on your hardware version. Take a look at the product ID screens and they'll tell you what hardware version your PM5 has then look it up. V215 is a valid current version since Jan 2024. Version 457 is only on the very latest monitor versions since March 2024.

Re: PM5 questions
Ergdata will also remember the HR belt.
The concept 2 utility will check the latest firmware appropriate to your monitor hardware. My monitor runs on 215 and this is the latest SW for it (did the update recently). So be aware of your minority HW and check the respective SW branch for it.

My hardware version is 907 but I don't see on the C2 website where I cross reference that with the most recent firmware version.Citroen wrote: ↑July 21st, 2024, 12:06 pmThe PM5 can save your HR belt details if you insert a USB stick. Otherwise you'll have to connect your HR belt everytime.

When you say that version 457 is only on the monitors since March 2024, do you mean manufactured since March 2024? I thought that date was the release date of the 457 firmware version.
Re: PM5 questions
If you use either the concept 2 utility (windows) or ErgData (i-thing or android) you can do the update, and it'll figure out the correct version.brendelac wrote: ↑July 21st, 2024, 1:00 pmMy hardware version is 907 but I don't see on the C2 website where I cross reference that with the most recent firmware version.Citroen wrote: ↑July 21st, 2024, 12:06 pmThe PM5 can save your HR belt details if you insert a USB stick. Re: PM5 questions
The firmware version will also be listed on the same PM5 screen as the hardware version. You can check on the website the firmware ranges, they have ranges from oldest to newest for each HW version.

and then click the 'more info' link. I believe you have a v3 PM5 (215 latest).
