My rower is about to reach its first 50 hours of use, time for oiling the chain.
Should I turn the rower upside down to reach the hidden part of the chain
and oil it as well? If I am not mistaken the links of this part of the chain also
pass over the chain idler pulley, so they have to bend smoothly.

I pull out the chain with handle locked at end of the monorail and oil all of the visible chain. As the chain travels much less when in use, this should be fine.

Just pulling out the chain as far as possible is the official procedure:

Just pull out a bit and oil that.
Basically there is next to no load on the bit of chain inside the frame, the only load exists from the sprocket to the handle.
If you looked a stuffed chains they only wear out over a very short section of the total length that engages with the sprocket.
