Dear C2 community,
I have an older PM4 (3100....) that I'm trying to convert to SkiErg.
The utility gives me an "unable...." error if I try to use the utility tool to convert it. Actually the error prompts no matter which type I try to convert it to.
I have the appropriate firmware but I really don't know how to flash it to the PM4 via USB.
Also it seems like the Utility has "Load optional Firmware" tool but that's somehow password protected?
I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks!

Re: Converting old PM4 RowErg to Skierg
I don't know how to do this. If I was trying I'd get the PM4 to current firmware as an erg, factory reset it as an erg, then move laterally to the skierg firmware. The reset is likely key here. If that failed I'd email concept2 (Email: info@concept2.com). Good Luck.usesnusloosetooth wrote: ↑August 19th, 2022, 2:11 amDear C2 community,

0. NEW BATTERIES for PM4. Just because you are messing with firmware loads. If you are using a laptop to install the firmware plug in your laptop and have a charged battery.
1. Load latest PM4 firmware (Version 29 (released November 2012—for serial number lower than 310100000).
2. Factory reset the PM4 as an erg. This cleans out any data you have in the PM4 that is erg data. Just be aware that although performing the following reset will resolve the problem, it will also clear all memory (including lifetime meters) as well as any language, date, and time settings:
On the face of the monitor, press and hold the Change Units and Change Display buttons, while pressing and releasing the Reset button on the back of the monitor. https://www.concept2.com/service/monito ... code-573-1
3. Then use this function (which is the one I think you are using) https://www.concept2.com/service/softwa ... nitor-type
Converting Monitor Type
This function allows you to change the type of machine the monitor will be used with (SkiErg, Indoor Rower Model A, B, C, D, E or Dynamic).
Launch the Concept2 Utility.
On the main screen, click Maintenance and Settings.
Click Perform Monitor Maintenance.
Select PM3, PM4 or PM5 as appropriate for the monitor you want to maintain. If your monitor is already connected, skip to step 6.
Use a USB cable (standard printer cable) to connect the monitor to your computer.
Click Convert Monitor Type.
Select the machine type you want to convert the monitor to.
Click OK. The Concept2 Utility will begin converting the monitor. The conversion takes several minutes. The utility displays a progress indicator will the conversion is occurring and will notify you when the conversion is complete.
