Found a local ad with lifetime meters of 235302 for $800. Sellers says it was purchased in May 2021 and the condition looks really new.

Is 235302 meters underused? Their PM5 says it was used for 24 hours, 56 workouts.

Should I try to negotiate the price? If so, how much?

That's probably a reasonable price for a low usage clothes horse. You're saving $100 on the list price. You could try to negotiate anything up to $100 off the price depending how much it's going to cost you to get the ergo delivered.

As noted above, likely a good price. My rower was delivered in January of 2021, and it’s well beyond 2,000,000 already. Just check to make sure it wasn’t stored in a nasty environment.

I think a lot of people ordered in pandemic boredom without any commitment to actually doing anything.

I started rowing January 15, 2022. Today is February 25, 2002.

So far I've racked up 289,277 meters, just rowing every day.

That thing is essentially new.

FWIW my erg is a 33-year-old Model B in good shape, bought for $200 the same week I started using it. It works perfectly, doesn't look its age at all and I upgraded it to a PM5 right away. The takeaway is that these machines are simple, rugged and will last pretty much forever.

Re price: The right price is one that both the buyer and seller can live with. There's no such thing as "It's worth X." It's worth precisely what the market will bear and not a penny more.

I see listings in the $800 range all the time. Some cheaper, but they tend to be older. What boggles my mind is how many sellers are trying to get well over list price for rowers. That makes no sense at all.

Many consider the model B seat the most comfortable that C2 ever produced. I happen to agree with that sentiment.

Can you even buy a new one right now ? I think there has been a waiting list over here for an Erg for over a year.

I see the RowErgs are finally back in stock but there is still a wait list for a SkiErg and the BikeErg.

Personally I wouldn't buy a used one without a decent saving. By the time you pay for the freight its not worth it. The new price over here usually includes the delivery so I would rather get a brand new one in the box.

I agree with Carl - unless the cost of shipping a new one is totally outrageous, I wouldn't get a local used one to save $100 over new.

I got my brand new rower in 3 days, and that was President day weekend.

There are shipping and taxes to consider. Altogether is $1030 for a $900 rower, so getting almost new for under $800 is reasonable and I've seen a few on FB for that much.

Just for giggles I searched fb and someone just posted a model e pm5 for $350 in Maine. Someone's messenger is about to crash.
