Model D rower, looking for PM5 Monitor

Post by Lizonsky » September 23rd, 2021, 10:13 am

Hey guys, so I’m looking to purchase this Model D rower. Unfortunately the whole monitor is busted and doesn’t work. The guy I’m buying it from wants to sell it for $350. I found a replacement monitor at this site: https://shop.concept2.com/performance-m ... nitor.html

I’m just now starting to get into rowing and know absolutely nothing. Just curious if anyone has purchased from that site before? And if it’s even compatible. Still a decent deal?

Thanks a lot guys

Yes that PM5 is compatible with the model D rower.

You don't necessarily need the full retrofit kit that includes the new plastic arm as the PM5 will fit on your existing arm. The main difference between the old and new arm is a hole in the plastic web near the top so you can feed the pickup cable through it for tidier wiring. Its not that hard to put a decent size hole through your old arm with a drill and wood boring bit.

The PM5 is now onto its third hardware version so buy a new one.

That website is from the factory that makes concept2 rowers. It's legit.

You do not need anything other than the PM5, unless the existing arm is broken.
