Wanted Used PM3 Monitor
Wanted Used PM3 Monitor
I'm interested in getting my two daughters rowing. I recently resurrected my old model D and found my PM3 monitor is malfunctioning. I'm not really excited about throwing $160 at the PM5 retrofit at the hope my daughters will stick with a rowing regimen.
Has anyone upgraded their PM3 to a PM5 recently, or just happen to have an old PM3 lying around? I'll take your old PM3 monitor off your hands for a reasonable price in the interest of getting my girls involved in rowing.
Any interest?
Thanks

Where are you located? I have a PM3 that I retired in 2015 when I upgraded to a PM5. I'll need to put some batteries in it and see if it's still working. (It was last time I checked.) If so, I'm willing to consider selling it.
Take care,
Bobbi

HI, Ben,
Great! I'll test the PM3 this week and let you know if it's still working in case you're interested.
Take care,
Bobbi

Ben,
how important is it that the USB functionality works? I have a PM3 that I’ve been debating replacing with a PM5, but the USB connector broke loose (C2 did not design that part very well), so you can’t copy workout data off the logcard except by using another PM3. My inner cheapskate has not wanted to junk a piece of (mostly) working gear, which has kept me from pulling the trigger, but selling it on to a new home is a different story.
I’m also in California, but 95008 is a long row from 92630

Hi Bill,
Not important. I'm exactly the same way, I have so many electronic devices that I just can't part with - it drives my wife nuts
Please send me a PM and let me know how much you'd like for it including shipping.
Thanks, Ben

Ben,
I doubt mine would work for you. I bought it as a retrofit for a Model B, and I can’t change it to a Model D. I tried it on mine today and the data wasn’t accurate.
If there’s anyone out there who wants it for a Model B or C, let me know!

Are you sure? It's on the hidden menu on a PM3.NurseBobbi wrote: ↑August 17th, 2021, 7:40 pmI doubt mine would work for you. I bought it as a retrofit for a Model B, and I can’t change it to a Model D. I tried it on mine today and the data wasn’t accurate.

Thanks, Citroen. I had tried changing it with the C2 utility, and it said I couldn't, but I got an email from C2 customer support with the hidden menu info and I was able to change it. It's working fine now.

Ben,
There was a hidden menu that allowed me to change it to a Model D/E. I tested it on my Model D, and it's working perfectly now. Also, my USB connection works. Please let me know if you're still interested.
Take care,
Bobbi

If you decide to throw away those broken PM3. Can I have it? I can pay the shipping. My is broken too but I am trying to fix it and I need spare part.
Thanks,
Pat

Ben,
One thing you can try with your broken PM3 is that there is a small battery on the circuit board. Sometime that small battery turns bad. Just replace it with the same type OR remove it temporary(PM3 is still working, it just that no memory persist while changing D batteries). Then you turn on with with the new D batteries.
