Best way to sell my erg

Post by EthanTimmins » August 1st, 2021, 2:32 pm

All, I am looking for advice on where people have had success selling there used erg. I want to upgrade to a dynamic and my wife has put a hard stop on me having two ergs at home. Any advice would help. I am in the US, so any one in the US with advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Ethan,

I have not sold a RowErg, but did some looking when I was adding one this year. I found them on EBay, Facebook Market (I don’t do FB, but was pointed there by others), and Craigslist. EBay is likely to involve shipping, which is tough if you don’t have your C2 box, although you can specify local pickup only. FB or CL are pretty much local sales, and should be easier. Were I selling, I’d likely start with Craigslist or EBay.

Hopefully others will have suggestions! I’ve never rowed on a Dynamic, though I’d love to give it a try.

Fleabay. Stipulate local pickup ONLY.

Not an answer to the OP's question, but maybe helpful just the same:

If you have room, how about getting a pair of slides, and putting your rower on that?

Thats what I would do as well.

The OP has not mentioned how old the Erg he already has is, but if it was a late Model D with a PM5 then there is no way I would be selling it.

Not sure you can have too many ergs, especially if you have a later model. I row/erg in my driveway to also get some sun when the whether is not inclimate, and store my erg broken down standing up and takes so little space.

I would go Craigslist and local if possible. Easiest to as a cash transaction, have buyer inspect and do the transaction at the local police station. There was/is a waitlist for ergs, and I was seeing on CL used models or new models at about $200 over retail. Not sure if the waitlist has gone down, but I stuck it out and waited about 6 - 7 weeks to get mine

Craigslist and/or Facebook marketplace are some of the easiest ways to buy and sell fitness stuff. I have bought and sold weights and dumbbells and other equipment on both platforms. I prefer craigslist.

The only problem with craigslist is you will immediately get at least 2 or 3 emails for people who want to buy but are out of the country, but not to worry, they will have an agent who can do the pick up for them. Of course as well - they also have a much bigger check which they will sign over to you and you just need to cut their agent a check for the balance.

I could put up a pair of used sweat pants on CL and swear I would still get these emails. Without fail have gotten them with everything I have listed

Note that you can buy the box and shipping materials for your erg from Concept2.....
