Hi I borrowed a really old model c rower from work during covid and am due to take it back.
However looking at the roller underneath and way to remove it it’s by pulling the cord and the roller underneath should turn to face down. Mine is stuck fast in a c position and won’t budge!! Is their anything I can do or need it sorting professionally? Thanks
Wheel roller stuck under monorail model c
Re: Wheel roller stuck under monorail model c
Hi thanks for this! Sorry I meant the wheel under where the monorail detaches if that makes sense

Early model D with that rotolock. Time for judicious application of BFH or maybe rubber or nylon headed mallet a better choice. Budge, bend or break are all possibilities so make a few exploratory taps b4 getting aggressive.

A few taps should do the trick. Start with gentle taps and work your way up as required.
Absolute worst-case scenario if you destroy the locking "wheel" would be to get a replacement, which is available from C2.
Edit: I just realized that it's been so long since I've dismantled my Model C, I don't remember if the cord is there to turn the locking wheel to release it, or to tighten it. Obviously that's pretty important, so you can figure out where to hit to allow the wheel to turn toward the section with the smaller radius. See if you can figure that out on your own. If you can't, call C2 and ask them. (or hopefully someone here will know)
Good Luck

OK, I just tracked it down on the C2 web site:
https://www.concept2.com/files/pdf/us/i ... Manual.pdf
There's an image at the bottom of Page 7 of the PDF file linked above showing clearly that to release the "framelock" you would tap the rear section of the "wheel," where the cord is, to cause it to rotate in the direction necessary to loosen it. If it weren't super-tight then I suppose the idea is that you just pull up on the cord, which results in the same thing.
