Recently noticed that my chain feels rough and makes a slight grinding noise only at the end of my recovery. I do oil the chain monthly. The drive seems normal to me and I have not noted any change in pace or drag factor.
Model D with only about 8 million meters.
Any thoughts?

Re: chain feels rough at recovery
Sounds like it is hitting or binding on something in the return mechanism. Turn it over and check for proper alignment of the chain, shock cord, condition of the pulleys, etc. C2 has numerous schematics and instructions on their web site that will help you locate potential problems.
Mark Underwood. Rower first, cyclist too.

Check if the plastic slab at the bottom of the ramping beam (item PN1526 in the Parts List) is centered. I had some grinding noise when the slab had shifted to the side after transport.

Thanks. A bit of lubrication to the idler assembly seems to have helped. I've never done that before.Cyclist2 wrote: ↑May 5th, 2021, 12:42 pmSounds like it is hitting or binding on something in the return mechanism.
