Possible chain skip on Model E

Post by pvbyrne » December 22nd, 2020, 9:18 pm

I have a 4 year old Model E, my third Concept2 erg. During each of my last 3 sessions, I have experienced what seems like a chain skip, as has been described in some of these messages. But it only happens once or twice in a session. Today it happened once 10 minutes into a 30 minute session. Everything is fine before and after. I've seen some references to a one-way bearing which I have not heard of before. Is that a possible culprit? I find it hard to believe that a stiff link or worn sprocket would only cause a problem every 10 or 15 minutes during a steady-state row.

It's is the one-way (aka clutch) bearing.

Thanks for the reply. That thread in the link sounds like it explains what I need to do.
