I have a Model B and just upgraded to a PM5. Was so excited to get my workout in. I attached the monitor and got a message that said :
Tach Cable Message : Ground Wire
Attention
The sensor wire is damaged. Please contact Concept2 for repair or replacement.
Since I can’t really do anything until Monday - can someone confirm that the part they are talking about is the pickup wire? Seems to me that’s the only “wire” - it plugs into the PM.
Thanks for any input.

Re: Just upgraded to the PM5
First thing to do is check the firmware version and date code.
If the firmware isn't V168 (or V30 if you didn't get it direct from Concept2).
https://www.concept2.com/service/monitors/pm5/firmware
If its date code is before 14th April 2014 then it may need the battery cover replacing.

If it's not firmware or battery cover then pick up the phone on Monday and call Concept2 at 1-800 245 5676.
