model D pickup/generator

Post by james_d » April 29th, 2020, 1:37 pm

Hi,

I ordered a new pickup for my early 2006 model D rower, ive ordered the dual coil pickup and I just realised I need the whole a assembly on a pre Oct 2006 model!

Ive had a look at the pickup on my new model d and the coil looks quite a bit different but looks like it will physically fit.

Could someone explain why the newer dual coil won't fit or if it can be modified to fit, before I order the whole assembly and return the incorrect part.

Thanks for any help :)

James

We had to change the plastic base and cover to accommodate the dual coil. Call C2 to clarify but I think it's best to order the whole assembly.

You need a new plastic holder for the new twin coil but the new plastic holds both the old and the new tach pickups.

Righto thanks for confirming that, guess I should have read the description properly before ordering.

I've managed to repair the old one with a new plug as it was open circuit on the ground wire, the PM3 I had on before didn't pick this up, but I've just upgraded to a PM5 which picked the fault up straight away!

Cheers
