Hi all,
i have a model E due to be delivered today and tomorrow (for some reason the two parcels have split up somewhere en route (auf dem Weg?) from Germany.A couple of questions: -
- I'm clearing space in my garage - what is the ideal floor space needed?
- What are the good channels on Youtube for rowing, particularly interested in form videos.
- Does anybody have a C Breeze they want to sell? Rowperfect.co.uk dont have any in stock unlessIi want to buy two.
- I am thinking of starting with the Pete Plan. Is this a good place to start?

You'll need about 10'+ (3+ m) lengthwise, and about 3' (1m) width as a minimum.

Best videos are the C2 technique videos: https://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/ ... que-videos. Search under various "rowing" words on YouTube and you'll get more than you can imagine. But some are misleading or incorrect, user beware.

Don't bother with a C-breeze, get a good floor fan. That is more effective and doesn't require messing with the machine and drag factor.

The Pete Plan is a good starting point, AFTER you master the proper form, get used to the motion, seat, and handle, and get a little fitness. It will take a while to figure it all out, get questions answered, etc.

Congratulations Rapscalli! I hope you enjoy your machine as much as I do mine. I've had it for 10 years and it has been a life saver, especially during Social Distancing restrictions here in NYC.
My suggestion would be to find a team to join up with so that you have some support and camaraderie, as well as competitions to enter and take part in that will keep you striving for improvement on a regular basis.

Agree with the box fan thing instead of a C-Breeze. I have a C-B, and you're better off with a fan.

Annoyingly one box is held up in a UPS depot “ Due to global health events beyond our control, your package is being held for delivery at a later date.”
Just happy that I got one of the last rowers in Europe without having too resort to inflated prices on eBay.

The C breeze really only fits well on the Model C that it was designed for and is very fiddly on the D/E unfortunately.

Good YouTube links include Dark Horse rowing and Eric Murray's channel as well as the Concept2 technique material and British Rowing has a lot of Indoor stuff and training plans.
The Beginners Pete Plan is a good place to start but as said above get the basics right first and don't get impatient and rush at it.
There is a mountain of good information here and people to help sort out problems and answer questions as well

PS, what are people using to view iPads when rowing? I see that Concept have an ipad mount but it is not suitable for a Model E. There is also a RowFree mount, but that is $90 dollars delivered to the UK...!

I just got a used model E a week ago and totally love it. Updated the PM5 and created logbook account.
No new ones from the company right now.
I like the "Dark horse" channel on YouTube. very informative.

Well done on the purchase. For iPad, I just prop it on a chair next to the rower -- though I tend to listen to podcasts / audiobooks / music rather than watch stuff, so it doesn't matter where I have it. If I do want to watch something I'll use a laptop -- on the floor or chair. For smaller screens the Concept2 phone holder is good, or check Amazon.

As for what to watch, "Go Row", the British Rowing training channel on YouTube is excellent -- https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=go+row

Also on YouTube, Dark Horse and Training Tall are good.

for now im just using a box so i can watch some netflix on the laptop - sometimes the low tech solutions are the best!

I normally just prop the iPad between the foot plates and rest it on the handle holder. It's still in my field of vision over most of the stroke cycle, and hasn't fallen off yet (although I generally only use it during long steady pieces and not sprints). I prefer this to having to look at something off-centre.

Mine is in the garage too, I did invest in the rubber mat and the sturdy cover from C2 at the same time which has done a good job of keeping the dust / damp off.
