PM5 new firmware adds 'Connect' menu option (v30, December 2019)

This is just an information post to say that the new version 30 firmware for the PM5 on the indoor rower now makes it a little easier to connect to devices and ErgData because the menu looks like this (below).
Strangely, it doesn't make rowing any easier but I do find I'm now pressing fewer buttons.

It’s V. 168 for PM5 hdwre versions above 600 (green logo on the case) but same diff. I had good results with previous autoconnect but the revision with connect button on monitor AND a redundant repeat on ED screen isn’t a dealbreaker so long as it works all day every day.

Yes V30 working no problems at all for a couple of weeks.
I connect the Garmin ANT+ heartrate strap first then connect the Samsung phone after opening ErgData to the PM5.

Any of you know what is the difference between the old and new (after Dec 2016) PM5?
If you look at the changes listed for each firmware, it seems that certain functions are only in the PM5:

Markedly this:
ANT+ mode switching improvements
What is that? Does that mean that the newer PM5s have some new connectivity? Like talking to Garmin watches as ANT+ sensors? This is possible on BikeErg .. but that has the newer PM5 ... so my question is ... is this ANT+ PWR/CAD/SPD connection possible due to the new PM5 or is it BikeErg specific?

You can tell what version of PM5 you've got on the Product ID page (under Utilities).
Just upgrade the PM5 you've got with the latest version (30 or 168). You'll need V7.09.00 of the C2 Utility to do that.
That adds the Connect menu on the main page.
It extends the Utilities menu with "More Utilities" (and un-hides the Model selection menu).
Not sure what it does on a SkiErg or BikeErg as I've never seen or used either of those bits of kit.
