HR Monitor Dropping with PM5 Firmware Update

Hello!

Happy New Year!

Last week I updated my PM5 as Erg Data indicated there was a firmware update.

After updating the firmware - my HR monitor will no longer remain connected. I am using a Polar H10 chest strap. The HR monitor will initially connect and then the connection will drop off after rowing for a few minutes.

I am also using Erg Data to log my workouts. Erg Data was connecting via the Bluetooth and the Polar H10 was connecting using ANT+.

I have found my FitBit doesn't effectively capture rowing HR which is why I was using a chest strap

Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions?

Write an email to rowing@concept2.com with your problem description and what's needed to recreate or demonstrate it.

Hi, I had a similar problem with Polar H10 chest strap. For me the problem was in either Polar Flow or Polar Beat apps which I used to sync the training data from my Polar M400 watch.

I uninstalled the apps and have not experienced ErgData connection dropping any more (I now sync my watch with the USB cable instead).

Hello,

After researching a few items on this helpful forum - I noted that my H10 chest strap battery was low in my Polar App.

I changed out the battery and that appears to have resolved the issue.

My H10 chest strap has remained connected for multiple rows at different intervals (2000M, 5000M, 30 minutes).

Thank you everyone! Happy Rowing! :D

I have started to have the same problem with my Polar H7. It starts okay but then freezes of drops before restarting. Today I did 6x1,000m and it only worked properly on the last 1,000m. I had already changed the battery even though the previous one was only at 50%, but things did not improve. The strap is also quite new so am at a loss as to what is happening. The only thing different is that I installed the Polar App. could that be screwing things up.
