Not seeing stroke data from a workout on a USB stick.

Normally, I connect ErgData to the PM5 and log my workouts that way. When I do that, I see graphs with data for every stroke (
example).
Today, I was using a machine where the PM5's wireless was broken, so I plugged in a USB memory stick. When I uploaded the workout to the logbook using the C2 Utility on my laptop, I just got the interval summary day (
here), but no stroke data. Is that normal when you go the memory stick route?
I understand I can also plug my phone into the USB port on the PM5. If I do that, will ErgData get the full stroke data?

That's working normally. You only get stroke data with Ergdata on your phone. The stuff on the USB stick is no more detailed than what goes on a LogCard with a PM3 or 4.
If you have an Android phone use an OTG adapter and a USB-A to USB-B printer cable with Ergdata.

I find this annoying that all the data isn't logged onto the USB.
I can only guess its the same code section that logs to internal memory or USB and due to limited internal memory they don't log all the data... but you would think they could log the same as ergdata when USB detected as connected.
There are quite a few things I'd like to see on the PM5 as well as the above... e.g.
Option to switch off going to sleep, or set sleep timeout to user value.
Toggle projected distance between using what you are pulling now and using moving average that is also displayed.

Maybe a 2019 PM5 Feature Request thread would be good.
I like the screen sleep timer idea.... Even if you could set it for: No Screen Timeout until workout has been saved or abandoned.
Simpler design to build "Favorite" workouts in Concept 2 utility instead of having to record a workout and then save it - it would be great to program a week worth of workouts into my "Favorite" or "Custom" workout list so I can just come home, and hop into my my workout immediately without fumbling through the monitor buttons to build my workout or search for a previous similar row.
GHOST BOATS!!!!!!!
Paceboats are cool and all, but I want to race myself like people do on RowPro - I just don't need all the extra software and wires next to my C2 machine, I liked the interface for RowPro, it's not bad, but a simple GhostBoat on the PM5 to replace a pace boat on the PM monitor would be awesome - Even if it were as simpleton as using the "review" screen for your logbook on the PM, and then one of the buttons had "Ghostboat" to enter you into the exact same workout you picked out of your log.

At the moment you program your workout and then at the end you get the option to save it to favorites before doing the row if you are using a USB key. If no USB is used then that is a different matter.

This is already implemented. Use the Rerow feature under select workout. The paceboat is then your previous row.

If you read my "Favorite" workout section, I am very much aware of how to do this. But I can't PRE-PROGRAM my workouts the week before I do them. I have to do the workouts, save them as a favorite, and then row them again at a later time.
The Re-Row feature has a paceboat that goes at your AVERAGE pace for the entire row, not as an actual ghost that rows at the approximate pace you were going at the same time of the row. Sure you might end at the same pace, but the VISUAL of seeing where the other paceboat is compared to you during your row would be different if it were an actual ghost boat similar to how the RowPro style rows work.
I'm pretty well versed in how the PM5 CURRENTLY works.
But the paceboat just isn't the same as a ghost boat. The paceboat does NOT mimic the way you were rowing the previous workout, just average pace. If I took a water break in the middle of that workout, my pace might drop, but I might pull like a maniac to return to my average - that drop off and spike will not be reflected in the paceboat.

An adjustable off timer for the PM5 monitor would be good.
The rest is not required on the PM5 itself, it just needs to be a basic interface. if you want those other features they are already in ErgData and RowPro. Don't see the point in a ghost boat, if you want a truly random pace boat then get online with RowPro and row with other actual people.
I understand that the PM5 is already having to send a considerable amount of info as I was told to NOT use a USB stick with the PM5 due to the additional overheads it presented. Probably pays not to bog down the monitor itself and use far more powerful external devices to cope with those wanting more information from software options like RowPro.
Got enough of a problem building a stable system with the PM5 and RowPro V5.3 as it is.

I thought the Re-Row pace boat speed was constant over each split of the workout, but not for the entire row. (Assuming the workout you are using as the basis for the Re-Row varied in pace.) I haven't checked this out for sure. (wouldn't be hard to verify)

I must have misunderstood the features you wanted. I believe the pace boat goes at the average pace per split, so if you record more splits perhaps you will get an approximation. Either way, it sounds like you might enjoy either Rowpro or the "Programs" feature of Boatcoach.

I did the free trial of row pro, only see it up twice because it's inconvenient without a dedicated setup for the system (old laptop, shared family laptop etc). I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the PM5 , I'm suggesting some features that could maybe be looked into, something I would pay for if they were possible implementations even.
I'm happy with what I have. Just throwing ideas out.
I feel like I checked boatcoach out a few years ago, I haven't looked at it recently. I only remember that I downloaded ergdata and removed boatcoach, I think functionality then was similar to ergdata but crashed on me a few times.

Asking for new features is like asking Santa for a pink pony and a unicorn. It's unlikely to have any effect on how your PM5 works now or with a future firmware upgrade.
If Concept2 are planning to introduce a "PM6" they'll have already worked on their design and the features they can include in any future new hardware (while keeping within their retail price) - so asking for extras is equally futile.
The future appears to be a simple monitor and all of the smart stuff done on your phone or tablet or laptop connected to that simple monitor. (Lots of that stuff is already there with PM5 & Ergdata or PM5 & Rowpro).

Put me down for a Unicorn.
RowPro V5.3 would work fine on a decent modern Laptop, got away with running V4.3 on an old 2006 Core Duo that was designed for Win XP be it at low 25fps frame rates.
RowPro V5.3 has been simplified, getting online is easier

Why are you shouting at us? We can get it without the capitals.

Sorry if it appeared I was shouting. It was just emphasis. Using forum formatting UI is clunky on mobile, so I replaced bold with caps.
