Anyone use an arm band type HRM (not wrist watch or chest strap) ? How long? what type? how do you find it?

Greg Smith has written on his quantified rowing blog about the comparison of chest to upper arm as well I think

I use the Wahoo Tickr fit HRM which is an arm band. I prefer the location to wearing a chest band, and when I first got it I did a couple of comparisons (wearing both) and think the accuracy is just as good.
My only problem with the Wahoo one is that the strap isn’t holding up all that well to constantly being soaked in sweat, and I probably will need to replace it.

Rhyolite,
I know your request is over a week old but if you're still considering an arm-band type optical HR sensor, there's another resource for reviews you might consider: DC Rainmaker.
He isn't a rower (that I'm aware?) but does triathlons and is one of the web's premiere sources of credible fitness equipment reviews.
I've had problems with *wrist* optical HR on an erg (same as a bicycle - grip force seems to interfere with blood flow and causes erratic readings) but DCR reports no problems armband optical HR on a bike. Here are a few links to his links. (I'm not affiliated, just a reader)

As an aside: I use an ANT+ chest strap because the battery life is measured in *years*, versus optical that needs recharging daily.
