Hi,
I have a 1997 Polar HR Receiver for my model C Rower.
It doesn't work with a PM2 or PM3. Is there a battery inside it?
Thanks
Erik

No it gets its power from the monitor.
If you have a second one that works then swap cables to it. Try plugging it in and out several times, the contacts on the sockets oxidise and make poor contact after 20 years.
The Chest transmitters give far more problems than the receivers as they have the battery in them.
The range is about 6 foot at best, was happy in the end to move away to the Garmin ANT+ chest strap with the PM4, its a far better system with no interference from a person rowing next to you also with as transmitter and the range is like 15 meters or 60 feet plus.
