What color spray paint to touch up blue model D slide?
What color spray paint to touch up blue model D slide?
I have an older Model D, probably 2003 that has the blue color slide. An area near the back legs is rusted and I want to sand paper the rust and touch it up with some spray paint. Just trying to figure out what’s the closets match of spray paint at Home Depot. They have a royal blue and a cobalt.

I'm color blind
, but if it were me, I'd recondition the whole thing and go with a new color entirely. I'd sand it, primer it and then use a paint like Rustoleum or some other rust resistant product.

Mark Underwood. Rower first, cyclist too.

I’ve inquired with C2 about paint colors to match older rowers in the past and they have said that they don’t sell paint and don’t provide information on colors.
to match the light blue powder coated look of the front legs of a rower I had to go to the paint desk at Home Depot. so I took the machine apart and took a piece to match into the paint desk at Home Depot, at first I was looking for spray paint which limited the choices, but could not find anything close. i was worried about streaks from brush strokes, the paint desk guy suggested I used a foam brush to minimize brush streaking. I went through the colors wall until I found something that matched closely. the guy at the paint desk mixed a sample size of the matched color which I used to paint the section that needed touch up.
using mixed paint options gave the option to get something very close if not an exact match.
