Model D seat

Hi folks,

I bought brand new model D for about month ago. What I noticed is the seat is not as loose on the rail as on the machines I used to use in gym and thus it is not going full way forward the rail then I'm not sitting on it. If I put it all way back and release, it starts slide forward but stops at random point on its way.
All the seats on the gym machines easily slides till front plastic stopper then I do the same test.
Can you please advise how seat should behave normally?

I clean up a rail after each session, so must not be dirt issue. Too tight bearings on my seat? If so, will they get better after some time? Something else to look? Or is it so my seat behaves well and it is actually gym's machines have wearing problems?

Thanks in advance!

Funny how this has come up many times recently. Maybe they changed something in the manufacturing or parts?

Never seen it mentioned before and now about four times in the last couple of months on new machines.

I've had my D for 18 days. It was perfect out of the box, then around the second week the seat didn't freely roll on its own although there was no problem when I was on the seat. While I had been cleaning the rail after each use, I started cleaning the rail and rollers before using the erg. Issue solved - although I'm sure if was the cleaning or just daily use.

Thanks all for replies

The linked thread conclusion seems faulty seat rollers. Buddy said he had ordered new, replaced and feel a difference.

Do you think I can claim rollers from my local dealer as a warranty case?

You should also send an email to rowing@concept2.com as they may have a manufacturing failure and may not have seen this forum thread.
