Model E, why the fixed meter arm?

Post by Dano » August 25th, 2013, 3:45 am

I have a Model E and my only complaint is I really wish it had a folding meter arm, not the fixed one.

I always wondered why it was designed this way. Can someone please tell me?

Thanks!

The model E is the "Hummer" version to better withstand the crap treatment rowers get in public gyms. It's designed to be easier for folks to get on and off the machine by being 6" higher off the ground and having a monitor arm that you can use for leverage to get from sitting to standing when you're done or to gently lower your bottom on to the seat before you start.

You can't support your body weight on the monitor arm on a model D or model C (although I've seen some folks try that).

I don't like it, but can see why C2 added that feature.

Ahhhh... Well, as a guy with two hip replacements I can certainly appreciate the height advantage.

Just wish the arm folded so it would be less obtrusive under cover.

Oh well...
