Has anyone done this or considered it? Without disassembly for a better look it appears that it may feasible.

I guess with enough work it could be done. One major consideration is that the fan is designed to rotate in one direction- run it backwards and there will be very litle resistance. It begs the question- "why would you want to do this?" C2JonW

Ah! I didn't think about the rotation. The reason I ask is, I just picked up another C used and it's for my girlfriend's small apartment. Since it will be in her living room it will be like a piece of furniture which is fine as we both find the rower an attractive piece of equipment. The only practical location will put the fan side to sliding glass doors which rarely get opened and are covered by vertical blinds. Not only will the fan pushing the blinds around a bit but also the best profile of these rowers is the fan side and she would like it to face into the room. I've noticed almost every picture I see of a concept 2 rower is taken from the fan side. It's best looking side. Not a big deal but thought it would be nice if it could be done without too much trouble.

Have you looked at a C Breeze? It will redirect the exhaust air from the fan away from the fan area while also providing cooling while on the erg.

Oh, nice, nice. I just picked up my BARELY used, 3 month old Model D tonight. Do you happen to know if this fits the Model D?
