Model D Flywheel Replacement help, please.

Hello all,

I have a model D with pm3 that has about 130k on it and I've noticed vibrations - long story short, called up c2, and a replacement balanced flywheel has arrived. Now, I have to warn you, I'm not the most mechanically savvy person out there, so naturally, I'm having some trouble. I've been following the picture guide online and I've gotten to the point where I need to actually unscrew the flywheel from the base and I simply cannot. I don't want to put too much pressure because I'm weary it might break, and my 9/16th seems to be too long to fit underneath the flywheel to remove that screw.

Any advice?

Best,

You need TWO spanners or prefeably a ring spanner or socket on a ratchet wrench.

the spanners go either end of the shaft that has the spocket on it. The cage comes off one side to get to the nut and the plastic cover comes off the other side to get to the nut.

If you lucky the nylock will come off the flywheel side and then you just slip the flywheel assembly off the shaft and put the new one on and refit the nylock that doesn't have to be very tight.

The cage stainless steel silver part has two screws on it that should be undone a bit so it opens up the diameter or its very difficult to get back on.
