Heart rate on ErgData for iPhone

Post by Chrismt » December 5th, 2012, 5:39 pm

How is the heart rate picked up? I have a PM3 and don't use the C2 HR adaptor for Polar HR belts, but I do have a Bluetooth HR belt which works fine direct with the iPhone 4S and 5 and a number of Apps. Will the ErgData App pick up my Bluetooth HR belt direct through the iPhone, or does it only pick up the HR from the erg PM3?

Sorry, ErgData will only pick up heart rate data from the PM3 or PM4. It will not work with Bluetooth Heart Rate belts.

I'll add this to the very long list of requests.

It would be great if you could incorporate input from Bluetooth Heart Rate belts into the ErgData app. Many of us have Heart Rate transmitters and do not have the Concept 2 receivers.

For what its worth, I use the Concept2 Heart Rate transmitters and love them. I have two; one on my home ERG with a PM4, and, the other one I then plug in each time I use a public ERG and it's really very simple. I like getting my HR info on the PM3 & PM4 and that also goes straight to the ErgData App on my iPhone as well as my C2 logcard. I still prefer the C2 logcard over the ErgData sync since ErgData logs considerably less detail than the logcard, but obviously displays way more information. It just doesn't log it at this time but I'm sure this is on the list of ErgData App upgrades and bug fixes for the the future. I really like the drive length information and that has really helped me refine my stroke to be more effective and not get "short" when going hard.
