Question on PM3 retrofit on Model C

Hey all,

I just got my PM3 monitor for my older Model C rower (my current PM2 screen keeps fading ocassionally).

I noticed this blurb on the website when I bought it:

"Please note: This kit does NOT include the Monitor Pickup with Cable, PN 1748 (the cable that plugs into the PM3 from the flywheel). If you also need that part, it must be ordered separately."

Would I need this part too, or is this only if your current cable is broken or missing? I just want to make sure the cable isn't model specific (that is, I have a Model C type cable and there is a newer one?).

Thanks.

The wire from the flywheel simply plugs in the bottom of the PM3 (instead of in the back of the PM2).

Check on the Main menu --> More options --> Utilities --> Product ID page that the PM3 monitor is configured for a model B/C ergo and you should be good to go.

If it's not configured for the right model then
Main menu --> More options --> Utilities --> LCD Contrast
Once on the LCD Contrast page press [CHANGE UNITS] three times, then press [CHANGE DISPLAY] three times to bring up the hidden configuration page.

Great, thanks. So I don't need this cable then. Thanks also for the info...I wasn't aware it had to be in Model C mode...
